    How does NOSA viral control work?

    NOSA viral control is placed in the nostrils so that you can breathe through the product. The product design forces the air to pass through the device where the virus gets in contact with the lamella structure that captures and inactivates the virus. This is possible due to the unique silver ion substrate inside the lamellae structure. In this way, the device reduces the amount of viruses that enters the respiratory system. NOSA viral control is a medical device class 1 and is available within Europe.

    Why is it important to protect the nose against viruses?

    The latest research shows that there are two types of cells inside the nose that are the likely entry point for the COVID-19 virus. These cells work as “viral entry receptors” and are highly accessible to the coronavirus because of the location in the nose where we inhale droplets containing the virus. (Sungnak et al. 2020)

    Tests by external laboratories have shown that NOSA viral control can reduce up to 93% of Coronavirus, Rhinovirus and Norovirus when in contact with the device.

    THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VIRUSES AND BACTERIA

    Both viruses and bacteria are called microbials, an organism of microscopic size. Viruses are much smaller than bacteria and unlike bacteria, can’t survive without a host. Viruses reproduce by attaching themselves to sells. Most viruses cause disease and are often attacking specific parts of the body, for example the respiratory system or blood.     Viruses mainly have a negative effect on the body since it often causes disease or illness, while bacteria can have both a positive and negative effect on the body. Some “good” bacteria are even crucial for our survival, for example the bacteria that already exist in our digestive system.     The most common virus is the Rhinovirus, which causes cold. There are also other types of more serious virus-diseases, for example the Coronavirus. (Kry, 2020)
